Spiral bound notebooks containing Peter Opies aide memoirs, draft letters, army notes, notes on contemporary events and conversations, quotes, rhymes and songs, fragments of stories and journal entries, lists, and other notes and miscellaneous writings; newspaper cuttings:
Folder 1: Six notebooks, (a) c.1939, (b) c.1939-40, (c) 1940, (d) c.1940-1941, (e) c.1941, (f) n.d. [1941?].
Folder 2: Five notebooks, c.1941-1942, (c) includes notes on BBC structure and administration.
Folder 3: File entitled 'The Theory', containing newspaper cuttings collected by Peter Opie, mainly about the human mind, psychology, willpower, human achievements, and related subjects, c. 1947-1978. Also contains a note by Iona Opie on her husband's character and beliefs, 1992.
