Summary

The following title is prefixed by the transcriber: "This tome doth containe two apologetics of R. fa. Aug. Baker; (1) A letter written to V. R. fa. President [at Douay, i.e. Claude White]; (2) An answer to fa. Francis Hull his objections. / Where you finde anie thing inclosed in this kinde of crookes [], they are to signifie that the wordes or matter so inclosed are in one exemplar out of which this is transcribed, and are not to be found or were cancelled in another. / Cætera quæ dixi vel scripsi, pacis amantem, Hoc opus armorum me comprobat esse potentem."

The first part is signed by sisters Catherine Gascoigne and Gertrude, together with Aug. Baker, and is dated at Cambray, 6 Sep 1631. The second part, in answer to the Objections, which were sent by the President to Baker in Oct 1631, is dated Nov 1631.
