A Benedictine breviary
Shelfmark
MS. Canon. Liturg. 346
Summary
A Benedictine breviary, probably written in the diocese of Aquileia, consisting of:
A calendar and tables (fol. 1)
Proprium de Tempore (fol. 9: wanting a leaf at beginning)
Proprium Sanctorum (fol. 195)
Commune Sanctorum, etc. (fol. 290)
Psalter (fol. 320: imperfect at end)
The calendar is not unlike that of MS. Canon. Liturg. 297, North Italian with a strong German admixture: at June 9 is 'Consecratio ecclesie monasterii Mosacensis', added perhaps late in the 13th cent., and St. Vocatus occurs: Mosacum is near Aquileia. The calendarial tables extend from 1228 to 1297 (1305). There are musical notes.
