Binding

Plain parchment case-binding with yapped edges; apparently lettered on all three edges, perhaps including the words 'CICERONIS' and 'ORATIONES'; the spine with a red-leather title-piece lettered in gilt 'CICERONIS | ORATIONES | CODIC. CART. | SEC. XV.'

Provenance

On fol. 80v is a letter dated Perusie, 5 Kal. Jul. 1449, in which the writer offers his services to Antonius. On fol.97v – 98 are pen trials in various types of script, among them ‘Illustrissimo et excellentissimo domino Antonio de Manfredi de Florentia’. There are marginalia in a contemporary hand.
