Correspondence with Margaret Gowing regarding research for her book Britain and Atomic Energy, 1939-45; extensive comments and recollections by Peierls, 1961-1963.

Includes extracts from a June 1963 memorandum to Mrs. Gowing by Sir Henry Dale regarding British scientists' attitudes to the use of the bombs against the Japanese.

Brief correspondence between Peierls and Howard Graves regarding his research at Oxford for a B.Litt., 1964-1968.

Later correspondence regarding Peierls's article on Oppenheimer for the Dictionary of Scientific Biography, 1972. (See also MS. Eng. misc. b.218/D.9.)
