Summary
Transcript of the 'Liber famelicus' of Sir James Whitelocke (1570-1632), made in the 18th century from the original manuscript (now British Library, Add MS 53725), omitting the lists of income and expenditure. It was printed by John Bruce from the original manuscript, omitting most of the financial details, as Liber famelicus of Sir James Whitelocke, Camden Society, 70 (London, 1858). The manuscript includes (pp. 148-151) a transcript of a letter from George, Prince of Wales, to Mrs. Whitelocke, concerning her husband John Whitelocke and the attack on Buenos Aires, and of her reply, 1807.
xxiii + 249 pages (pages 134-147 and 152-249 are blank).
Owned by John Whitelocke, and deposited with Francis Hargrave, 1793 (inscription, p. iii).
