Summary
[MS. Mus. Sch. C. 123] The Latin Act song at Oxford, 1671, beg. 'Eia eruditam', in alcaics. 'These are the wordes of the Songe I composd for the Theatre with Instrumental musick, which was performd the 7th of July beinge fryday, 1671.' The words precede on fol. ii, then follow the vocal and instrumental parts. Foll. 22-end are blank. 37 leaves. Written in 1671 at Oxford.
[MS. Mus. Sch. C. 124] Ten short instrumental pieces (one to accompany the voice), in parts, forming the incidental music before a Latin speech, a Latin song and an English song at some Oxford Act. The last part is signed 'Mr [Matthew ?J Lock', so all are probably by him. Foll. 23-end are blank. 35 leaves. Written in the third quarter of the 17th cent.
