Summary
Bedfordshire collections, apparently formed and arranged by John Gough Nichols on the basis of papers written or collected by Richard Gough and his friends; some additions are as late as 1835.
There are a few general papers, followed by papers relating to separate parishes in alphabetical order, usually consisting of extracts, engravings, and letters or notes. Among the latter are:
extracts from old records (fols. 34, 45);
lists of institutions to benefices (fols. 52, 54);
papers contributed by Edward Steele (fols. 54, 60, 70 (A.D. 1726), 237, 327 (A.D. 1713), 381, etc.), Nathaniel Cartwright (A.D. 1793, fol. 200, etc., with copies of church inscriptions at Leighton Buzzard), Oliver St. John Cooper (A.D. 1782-8: fol. 309, etc.), and the rev. John Dixon (A.D. 1799: fol. 358, etc.).
