Binding

White leather on boards, clasps lost, English early 15th cent. work, with coloured pattern on the edges.

Acquisition

Given to Bodley in 1612 by the Dean and Canons of Windsor. (MLGB3)

Provenance

'Hugo de la Penne recepit pannosdomini Johannis filii Thome', 14th cent.

Windsor, Berkshire, Royal collegiate chapel of St George: 'Liber collegii de Wyndesore' (fol. 276v, s. xv ex ). The binding has the usual heavy chain-staple mark at the foot of the front board. Visible in the inventory of 1384–5. (MLGB3: evidence from binding or pastedowns and from an ex-libris inscription or note of gift).
