Summary
1st edition of Ella's Musical Sketches, Abroad, and at Home(London: Ridgway, 1869). The copy contains a few corrections in Ella's hand. Several press cuttings (reviews of the book) pasted onto front and end pages; also a 'menu intellectual' for Ella's birthday party (1876) and a photograph of Ella. There are two loose items: (i) an extended cutting (review), dated 21 April 1869, pasted onto a Musical Union programme, inserted before the front flyleaf; (ii) a cutting (review) from The Orchestra, inserted between pp. 334 and 335.
