Summary

Forming two cantos or parts, to which John Lane has added ten more parts, the rubric between the two divisions being 'Thus farr Chaucer. Now followeth a supplie to what heereof is missing; finished by John Lane anno Domini 1615.' There are also an address by Lane to the Poets laureate in the two Universities (fol. iv), commendatory verses to the writer, an extract from Spenser 'concerninge this invention of Chaucers', an acrostic on Lane's name (fol. 4V).

A license for the printing 'March 2, 1614', is signed 'John Taverner.'.
