Hodgkin was actively considering this but declined when offered the first Wolfson Royal Society Research Professorship (see MS. Eng. c. 5576/15-16 in main Hodgkin papers; Ferry pp.283-285). Included here is a letter at the closure of Hodgkin's Extraordinary Fellowship at Wolfson College, 1982.
