  • Manuscript composed of two separate parts, apparently by the same scribe. The first ( folios 1a-64b) is an Armenian vocabulary list with French and Turkish glosses, written by the scribe, who appears to be a native speaker of neither Turkish nor Armenian. The second ( folios 65a-80b) is a copy of a letter from the Ottoman Sulṭān Aḥmed I to the Henry IV, King of France, originally composed in late Zīlḥicce 1012 AH = late May 1604 CE, regarding the renewal of the 1604 treaty of capitulation between France and the Sublime Porte which, among other things, guaranteed freedom of worship for the Catholic community in the Ottoman Empire. — Multiple dates MS. Laud Or. 202
