Borders.
Initials. By several hands, the later one at the end of the manuscript related to Chantilly, Museé Condé, Fr. 495. (Pächt and Alexander i. 710, pl. LIV)
Binding
Contemporary (?) binding of bevelled wooden boards covered with brown leather, rebacked, with incised decoration including flowers and inscription 'dominus Johannes Blathe' possibly added slightly later. Four bosses, with fixture for a clasp which fastened to a pin in the centre of the back cover.
Acquisition
Bequeathed by Douce to the Bodleian in 1834.

Summary
'Cy commence le desrain liure de la Vigne nostre Seigneur', a treatise of Antichrist, the Judgement, Heaven, and Hell, divided into chapters: beg. 'Voca operarios ... Comme le soir feust venu.' There are many corrections on erasures. The binding is leather on boards with plain panelling and cross-hatching and brass bosses, re-backed: an early owner added his name 'dominus iohanes blache' or Blathe with flower-work, done by simple hand drawing with some tool.
