File 1, fols. 1-6 and items 1-9: Flora Shaw's copy of correspondence, 1894, between Lord Ripon and Cecil Rhodes about the views of the South Africa Company on Bechuanaland at the granting of the Charter, with extracts from Command Papers, 1890-1895, concerning the status of Bechuanaland and newspaper cuttings.

File 2, fol. 1: Lugard's commission as Justice of the Peace in Bechuanaland issued by Sir Hercules Robinson, 1896.

File 3, fols. 1-125 and items 1-2: Correspondence with Charles Rey, Resident Commissioner of Bechuanaland, with many enclosures, 1930-1937.

File 4, fols. 1-96 and item 1: Reports of Charles Rey's addresses to the Native Advisory Council, a report by him on progress and development since 1929 and related correspondence, 1935-1937.
