Summary
Eighteen letters from Henry Hyde, 2nd earl of Clarendon, to the earl of Abingdon as lord lieutenant of Oxfordshire during and on the suppression of the duke of Monmouth's Rebellion, 21 May 1683-9 July 1685: at fol. 59 are three drafts of replies, 8 and 10 July (1685).
The binding is tooled purple morocco (Oxford, about 1854): into the front cover is let an original pencil drawing of the duke of Monmouth 'by Foster.'.
