File 1, fols. 1-66 and item 1: Memorandum by Lugard on proposals for closer union with reference to the Treaty of Versailles and the Mandate for Tanganyika, a report of a demonstration in Berlin against the Mandatory Powers and the incorporation of German East Africa into the British Empire, a report of Toynbee's lecture on 'peaceful change' at the Berlin Academy of Law, an article on "Colonies and Raw Materials" in the journal of the German Association for League of Nations Questions, Volkerbund, and Lugard's "Note on Germany's Demand for Colonies" for the League of Nations Union meeting of 8 Nov 1938, 1929-1938.

File 3, fols. 1-15: Series of articles on 'Plan for Peace' in the Daily Herald, Mar-Apr 1936, sent by Francis Williams.
File 4, fols. 1-22: Correspondence about possible immigration of Italians into the Argentine, a move by the Imperial Policy Group to force the British Government to reformulate foreign policy in the light of the Italo-Abyssinian War by means of an appeal to the Prime Minister alleging that current policy was thrusting Italy into the arms of the Germans, an appeal which Lugard refused to sign. Also Lugard's draft introduction to a book by Joelson contrasting the German and British principles of colonial rule, with a copy of a letter from an M.P. to Hilda Matheson about a recent speech he had made in the Commons, 1936-1938.
