Provenance

Cistercian abbey of St Mary, Ourscamp: Domnus Andreas Noviomensis Canonicus dedit hunc librum, qui vocatur Registrum, ecclesie S. Marie de Ursicampo in elemosinam (fol. 122v).

Sunt enim in Sicilia Insula ecclesie vacantes episcopis et si vobis placet auctore Deo ecclesiam regere juxta B. Petri apostoli limina cum ejus adjutorio melius potestis; sin vero non placet feliciter state et pro nobis infelicibus exorate. Omnipotens autem Deus in quocunque loco vos esse voluerit sua protectione custodiat et ad celestia vos dona perducat (fol. 122v; Reg. IX ep. 42).

From an unidentified collection whose distinctive shelfmarks (not present in this volume) are also found among the manuscripts of Armand Jean du Plessis, Cardinal de Richelieu (1585-1642) (Quarto catalogue, pp. xvi-xvii).
