Title

Photograph album: 'Nice'

Shelfmark

MS. 23701 photogr. 1

Summary

The album has wooden boards (detached) and is inscribed with the word 'Nice'. It contains 132 photographs of family and friends (including William Johnson Cory), reproductions of famous people, relgious images and places along with some cuttings and drawings. A number of the photographs are loose and appear to have been removed from another album, possibly with a view to pasting them in here.

The original owner of the album was possibly Emily Jane Dolignon (c. 1816-1876), unmarried sister of J.W. Dolignon, and later passed to him and his wife Emily (Montagu) Dolignon (1831-1918).
