Summary
Made up of three MSS., comprising:
(fol. 7) A poem called 'The Tragecall Historie of Charles and Julia', mythical personages of early Britain: the early part is entitled 'The departing of Æneas from Troy': beg. 'When lesser Asia quak'd for feare.' There are many classical allusions, which are explained in two alphabetical glossaries at fols. 100, 143. The preface to these glossaries is signed 'W. Æ.' and a few preliminary poems on fols. 1-6 'E. P.': there are also some short poems, etc., chiefly amatory, on fols. 76v-99. (16th cent.)
(fol. 134) The medical properties of herbs, with recipes: beg. 'Anyse as leches seyn is hoot & drie.'. (15th cent.)
(fol. 157b) Chapters 123-214 (?) of the Brut Chronicle (A.D. 1066-1332): ending abruptly (some leaves being lost) ' thay holde in the reame of.' Fol. 157b is torn. (15th cent.)
