Comprises:
Notebook with draft autograph manuscript poem St Paul's - Old and New followed by 'Telly ideas' [notes for BBC series A Lasting Joy] and (at reverse) draft autograph poems 'The Word in the beginning...', early versions of Remembering Carrownisky entitled 'Girl & Horse' and Hellene and Philhellene. Few entries, mainly blank [c.1971].
Notebook with draft autograph manuscript poems entitled PICTURES from IRELAND, later titled The Whispering Roots [published 1970] 'and later poems' [from 1970] including Going my way?, Plus Ultra 'for Walter Allen' [published 1971], My Méséglise Way, Snowfall on a College Garden, Children Leaving Home and Hellene and Philhellene. Further poems, including A Tuscan Villa, Seminar and Epitaph for a Drug Addict, at reverse. Paginated, with later pencil annotation by Jill Balcon and unknown hand.
The Laureate Poems of C. Day Lewis containing fair typescript copies of poems, with associated photocopies of pictures and typescript extracts from newspapers, with additional loose inserts including letter from the Keats-Shelley Memorial House, 1991, enclosing typescript copies of Keats, 1821-1971 and list of poems [removed from original plastic folder for preservation purposes].
