Summary
Letters almost entirely written to Anthony Wood, 1657-95, chiefly on the biography of Oxford writers, some with draughts of the replies. In the following list some entries have been for convenience inserted from MSS. Wood F. 46-51, Ashm. Mus. c. 1, the whole series forming the bulk of the papers on which Wood's Atheme Oxonienses is based. They do not however satisfactorily allow of summary treatment.
The chief writers are:
Abington, Thomas (3), 1672-93 (fol. 2)
Adams, Fitzherbert, rector of Lincoln coll. (1), Aug. 8, 1691 (fol. 10: cf. MS. Lister 3, fol. 3)
Allam, Andrew (9), 1680-5 (fol. 24)
Anglesey, earl of, i.e. Arthur Anncsley (1), Nov. 27, 1671 (fol. 48).
Ashmole, Elias (16), 1672-86 (fol. 57)
Aubrey, John (151), 1668-95: among his signatures are, J. A., Joh. Albericus, John Baptist Gregory, J. Gregorius (fol. 116: MS. Wood F. 40, 101.372: MS. Wood F. 46, fol. 64: MS. Wood F. 49, fol. 41: MS. Wood F. 51, fol. 3)
