Summary
Made up of at least five MSS, a list of which will be found in the 1840 catalogue.
The chief items are:
(fol. 1) medical recipes, arithmetical terms in Latin and French
(fol. 4), 'Nimerus [numerus] Alphabetic verses, beg. 'A capit in numero'
(fols. 8, 22) two treatises on the Quadrant, one by 'magister [Ioannes] Campanus' de Novaria: one beg. 'Post composicionem chilindri', ends 'et sic terminatur Composicio quadrantis cum suo officio composita Oxonie. Explicit Quadrans.'
(fol. 30v) medical recipes, and recipes for making colours for illuminations, in Latin and English
(fol. 50) characters of eyes and noses, in English
(fol. 52) short treatise on Anatomy, beg. 'Cum fabrica corporis ab elementis', at end 'Explicit Phisionomia, & est vltimum capitulum lib[r]i Secreti Secretorum Aristotelis': at fol. 63 is 'Phisionomia Rasi': beg. 'Capilli plani timoris sunt signum.'
(fol. 63) treatise on Chiromancy: pref. beg. 'Secantur scientie': text beg. 'Ad sciendum artem ciromannicam': fol. 89 is injured.
(fol. 96) 'Incipit tractatus de constellacionibus hominum et mulierum secundum Ptolomeum philosophum': beg. 'Homo qui natus fuerit in signo Aquarii.'
Some short pieces, chiefly astrological, follow: but two are short English poems, begg. 'What is this worlde but oonly vanyte', 'Deceyt deceyuyth' (fols. 115v, 116).
