Summary
A Report on the Mines Royal at Keswick (and Coniston), by George Bowes and Francis Needham, apparently made in about 1600, preceded by the instructions issued to them by the Society of Adventurers in the mines, and followed (fol. 19) by 'Sundry expiriments' or empirical receipts for smelting and assaying copper, which are in part not before 1667 (fol. 29).
At fol. Iv are also the instructions from the Company to Daniel Hechstetter for a similar report, dated July 30, 1616.
