Acquisition

The MS. passed before 1790 from its transcriber, Samuel Pegge, to Edward Hasted, who made use of it in his History of Kent (see especially vol. iii, p. 319, note y). Hasted's library was sold by auction in 1795, and this volume was afterwards acquired by Richard Heber: it was bought at the Heber sale, Feb. 1836 (Bibl. Heber, pt. xi, lot 491) for sir Thomas Phillipps, and was no. 8132 in the Phillipps library: sold at the Phillipps sale, April, 1911 (lot 617).
