'Modius Salium', Oxford Jests, collected and written by Anthony Wood: the latest date in the volume is 1688 (fol. 26v). All but a few of the jests, which are often coarse, were printed from this MS. in 1751, the editor being perhaps Thomas Warton.
Two leaves are torn out after fol. 48, but no writing occurs on fol. 31-end.

'Antonij à Wood. Oxon̄. 1674', with Wood's armorial bookplate (a capital C, as reproduced in p. 428 of Clark's Life of Wood, vol. iii). This MS. was probably given to the Ashmolean with the next volume between 1748 and 1769: 'G. P. Bisse' (about 1735) is on fol. 1: the volume probably belonged to his father, see next art.
