Acquisition

Acquired by the Bodleian in 1659

Provenance

Canterbury, Kent, Benedictine abbey of St Augustine (originally of St Peter and St Paul): "Liber Willelmi de Clara quem portavit ad sanctum Augustinum" (c. 1300). "Liber Sancti Augustini Cant'. Liber W. de Clare" (s. xiv in.) "D xi Gra v[?]" altered to "D. xiii, Gra. iii". (MLGB3: evidence from an ex-libris inscription or note of gift to an institution).

Seldon supra 90 fols. 30–37, probably formed one volume with Seldon supra 26. Cf. Corrigenda to S.C. ii. Inscriptions on flyleaf, fol. iv recto (the leaf is from a late 11th-cent. MS., like fol. 130). (MLGB3)

John Selden, 1584–1654
