Summary
The contents of folders 1 and 2 in MS. Clar. dep. c. 464, i.e., Lt. Turner to Clarendon and Southern, were found in another part of the collection but obviously fit in here, and others from this packet have been placed in folders 1 and 2. The whole contents of these three boxes and the letters from the commander of the British Legion, General Sir G. de Lacy Evans, MS. Clar. dep. c. 460, MS. Clar. dep. c. 461, should be considered together and in conjunction with the naval correspondence (Lord John Hay, etc.) - see MS. Clar. dep. c. 459.
