Summary
Comprises:
(fol. 1) 'La Danse Macabre', a careful copy of an old printed edition (perhaps that of 1491) with coloured drawings in imitation of the engravings: on paper.
(fol. 15) 'La Danse des Morts, représentée en peinture dans la ville de Bâle, comme un miroir de la misere humaine. A la plume, par Leclabart en l'Année Mil sept cent soixante-quinze', a copy of the German edition printed at Frankfort in 1649, on paper, also with coloured drawings, comprising pp. 1, 42-126, 129-33 of the original. A reversible drawing of a head follows on fol 41v.
(fol. 42) ' Cy commence vn petit traitie intitule de la Penitance Adam translate du Latin en francois ... par Colard Mansion ...', with a preface by the translator: text begins ' Apres ce que Adam et Eue furent expulsez': an imitation of 16th cent. writing. See Van Praet's Notice sur Colard Mansion (1829), p. 16.
(fol. 73) 'La Vie d'Epictete et sa philosophie, avec le tableau de Cébés ... A la plume . en 1762. Par Leclabart, Membre de l'Académie d'Ecriture ... A Paris M.DCC.LX' (altered to M.DCC.LXXXIII), an imitative copy of the 3rd edition of the original printed book.
