Summary
The 'Practica cirurgie' of mr. John de Arderne of Newark, composed in 1376, of which a more orderly version is in MS. Ashmole 1434. The treatise beg. 'Practica magistri Johannis Arderne de Newarke cirurgici. Ego Johannes ...' at fol. 46 and is continued at fol. 1, ending at fol. 24v 'Explicit practica sirurgie magistri Johannis Arderne'.
The 15th-cent. table of contents (fols. iv-xiv) refers neither to the contemporary rubrics nor the present foliation. A 17th-cent. index on paper is now fols. ii-iiiv, and 53.
