Νικηφόρος, d. 1118, RGK I, 305, whose colophon, being a combination of a book epigram in iambic dodecasyllable and a prose part with the year and date of completion, is given on fol. 149r: Χριστὲ ὁ πλάσας καμὲ ὡς ἠβουλήθης σοὶ σῶτερ δίδου τοῖς ἐμοῖς πόνοις χάριν. ἐτελειώθη τὸ παρὸν βιβλίον χειρὶ Νικηφόρου εὐτελοῦς μηνὶ μαρτίῳ α´ ἰνδικτιῶνος ια´ ἐν ἔτει ιςχκς´. http://www.dbbe.ugent.be/occ/3088

Binding
Typical Holkham binding of brown leather, with Coke family ostrich crest in gilt in the centre of the upper cover; Date: early nineteenth century. Rebound by John Jones of Liverpool (worked for Holkham 1816–1823). The spine lettered in gilt: / GEORGII/ OECOMENICI/ ET// SIMEONIS/ MAGISTRI/ CHRONICA/ GR.–/ M.S./ AD. MCXVIII./; in pasted black leather: MS. /HOLKHAM/ Gr. 60/

Ownership Notes: fol. 1r: ἐκ τῶν μάρκου μορεζήνου ἱερέως; fol. 149r: Ἰωάννης Βαρθωλομέος: ἀπὸ τὴν τίνο· + υγόρασα το βηβλήον οὖτον ἀπο τὸν παπᾶν κυρὸν Ἰωάννην ἀπὸ τὸ σουρίαι. ὁ θεὸς συχωρίσιτον. + Οὗτος ὁ βίβλος ἐστὶν ἀμαρτόλου ἱἐρέος· μάρκου συγκέλου· καὶ ὡστις τόχεν (τύχεν Hutter) κλέψουν να ἔχει τὰς ἀρὰς τῶν ἁγίων πατέρων· καὶ των ἑπτὰ συνόδων (in marg. sec. manu καὶ των ἑπτὰ συνόδων).
