Summary
Two forms of general prayers, similar to the Bidding Prayer, are prefixed, one dated Jan. 26, 1616, and the other written in the time of Charles I. The parishes in which the sermons were delivered were Mapowder, Dorchester (at the Assizes, 1612 or 1613), Cerne (at the Bishop's visitation, 1613), Blandford, Abbotsbury, and Haselbury. Thomas Clark appears from Hutchins' Hist. of Dorset to have been rector of Haselbury-Bryan from 1611 until dispossessed under the Usurpation, and one of the same name was also deprived of the rectory of Mapowder in 1645; it is therefore scarcely to be doubted that these persons are identical, alike with each other and with the writer of this MS.
At the end is bound up The whole Book of Psalmes, with apt notes, in octavo. Lond. 1615.
