Caroline minuscule by two hands.

Decoration

Decorated initials, chiefly in blue and gold (fols. 2v, 5, 13, 42v, 51), partly unfinished. (Pächt and Alexander i. 40, pl. 5)

Lightly coloured capitals (fols. 69–73, 77, 80v, 82v, 83, etc. 122).

Musical notation

Adiastematic neumes give cues of the introits in the margins of the Sundays after Pentecost and in Advent (fols. 87v–121r). In the passions (fol. 42v) the parts are indicated by c, f, and t.

Binding

Black leather over wooden boards (possibly medieval). Pale blue silk endbands.

Acquisition

Bought from Albert Cohn (1827–1905), Berlin bookseller (catal. 178 art. 1), 1 November 1886, for £6 15s (note on upper flyleaf).
