Copies of papers and treatises on public affairs in England from 1603 to 1660, with some Oxford papers: the chief items are:
Fols. 1, 17, 23. Cambridge University letters and papers, chiefly in Latin, 1616-1636.
Fols. 5, 19, 25. Letters of compliment from the University of Oxford, orations etc., in Latin, 1615-1650.
Fol. 11. Poems on two great ships of the Navy, 1637; in English and Latin.
Fol. 28. 'Observacions about Ireland' by Sir C. Reynell.
Fol. 35. Sir Walter Raleigh's Petition to the King, and (fol. 36v) his treatise of calling Parliaments, entitled 'A dialogue between a Councellor of State and Justice of Peace.'.
Fols. 47, 129, 146. Miscellaneous papers on public affairs, including some by Laud (fol. 49) and the Chapter of Durham 1628 (fol. 51), indulgences granted to the English College at Rome 1612 (fol. 59), speeches in and petitions to parliament (fol. 77), 'legacies given to the preachers . at Paul's Cross' (fol. 90), trials of conspirators (fol. 154); 1603-1654.
