The coloured sketches of arms in the initials are (i) sable, a fess counter-embattled between three catherine wheelsor (Brantingham); (ii) or, three piles in pointazure (Guy de Brien); (iii) argent, three fusils conjoined in fess gules (Montague); (iv) sable, a sword in bend sinister, hilted and pommelled or, surmounted by a key in bend of the last, wards in chief (dean and chapter of Exeter)

Brief chartulary of Slapton chantry in Devon, in the diocese of Exeter, founded Sept. 10, 1373, by sir Guy de Brien, knight, containing only the foundation charters and confirmations thereof.

The coloured sketches of arms in the initials are:

Sable, a fess counter-embattled between three catherine wheels or (Brantingham)

Or, three piles in point azure (Brian)

Argent, three fusils conjoined in fess gules (Montague)

Sable, a sword in bend sinister, hilted and pommelled or, surmounted by a key in bend of the last, wards in chief (dean and chapter of Exeter)
