Contemporary binding in bevelled wooden boards covered in white leather, later rebacked; traces of central green silk strap which fastened to surviving pin in lower cover.

(Fol. iv, flyleaf) ‘Tabula de principaliter tractatis in hoc libro secundum numerum foliorum’ (15th cent. English hand)
(fol.ii) form of the institution of a Benedictine abbot and the profession of obedience of a monk, mentioning Hyde abbey at Winchester and an abbot ‘Thomas’, probably Thomas Forte, abbot 1485–8 (late 15th cent?).
Fol.9v: ‘Richard Dowse ys boucke’ (16th cent.).
