A collection of original legal and business papers [i + 101 leaves]. Includes:

(Fols. 1-24) Papers relating to the appointment and fees of apparitors in the Diocese of Oxford, 1769-1771.

(Fols. 25-26) Letter of Edward Pearson, 2 Aug 1766, concerning the appointment of John Hume [Bishop of Oxford 1758-1766] to the bishopric of Salisbury.

(Fols. 27-28) Nomination of John Winter as curate of Hook Norton by Hender Mounsteven, 21 May 1767.

(Fol. 29) Order of the Attorney-General concerning financial matters in a dispute between the minister and churchwardens of Stanton St. John and Sir Thomas D'Oyly and others, 1 Feb. 1748.

(Fols. 30-31) Petition and order concerning removal of Moss Bradford, his wife, and children from Hanwell, Middlesex to East Adderbury 20 Feb. 1817.

(Fols. 32-33) Copy of depositions in a case between George Owen of Wolvercote and the commonalty of Oxford concerning common pasture called Cripley and Port Meadow, 20 Sept. 1523.

(Fol. 45-48) Petition of William Henchman [Vice-President of Magdalen College, 1745] against the refusal of the college to elect him bursar.

(Fol. 51) Draft consent of the Visitor of Corpus Christi College [Benjamin Hoadly] to arrangements for leave of absence of Disciple-Masters, 19 July 1755.

(Fols. 52-91) Papers concerning the enclosure at Hook Norton, Southrop and Stanton Harcourt, 1773-1778, including:

(Fols. 74-85) an annotated copy of the printed Bill for the enclosure of Hook Norton and Southrop

(Fols. 92-96) Land in Mongewell sold to [Shute Barrington] Bishop of Durham, 1805.

(Fols. 97-98) Signed order of John Townsend, Mayor of Oxford, for the removal of a woman from Oxford to Knowle, Warwickshire, 4 May 1694.

(Fols. 99-100) Agreement between John Patterson and Samuel Paget, junior, to sell a brewery and public houses in Yarmouth, 7 Jan. 1804.
