One large illuminated initial (leaf 1r) with penwork extensions decorated in gold, red and blue with penwork extensions decorated in gold, red and blue; 8 3- or 4-line illuminated initials on red and blue grounds,

2-line decorative initials in red and blue ink.

18th century blind tooled calf, panel design.

Provenance

Manuscript name in margin of leaf 146v "Thomas Massy"; not clear if referring to an owner or something in text. Pencil note on inside of upper board: "gift from the founder", i.e. William Smith
