Decoration
As for MS 59. Doubtless an initial and border has been lost with the first leaf. On fol. 115 is a 13-line initial and border in colours and gold; most of the lower margin has been excised.
Binding
s. xv, heavily restored; slightly bevelled oak boards with projecting squares, now bare; resewn on seven bands; formerly two broad straps from shallow recesses in the front board to catches in the back. Formerly chained from the foredge of the front board near the foot, and from the foredge of the back board, near the head. fols. i and 223 are blank paper binding leaves. Inside the front board is a parchment pastedown.
Provenance
MSS 59–64 are a set, made for Richard Scarborough (see MS 17), and bought from him by Thomas Bloxham(see MS 41), who bequeathed it to the College on his death in 1473.
Inside the front board is a list of contents and ‘N. 5. 4 [changed to6]. Art:’, s. xvii, the second canc. and replaced with ‘G. 3. 1 (LXI)’ in red. The College bookplate. ‘3’ is inked on the foredge.
