Provenance
MSS 59–64 are a set, made for Richard Scarborough (see MS 17), and bought from him by Thomas Bloxham (see MS 41), who bequeathed it to the College on his death in 1473.
At the foot of fol. 120 is pencilled ‘Danyel May’, s. xv. This may have been the artist.
On fol. 1v, in a large formal humanistica, the same as the index, ‘Orate pro anima magistri Ricardi Scardeburgh sacre theologie professoris qui istos libros fieri fecit quos postea magister Thomas Bloxham in medicinis doctor ab eodem emit et huic collegio dedit. Orate igitur pro utroque’, followed by a table of contents. See MS 59.
Further down is ‘N. 5. 5. Art:’, s. xvii, canc. and replaced with ‘G. 3. 5 (LX)’ in red, the 3 later corr. in pencil to 2. ‘2’ is inked on the foredge.
