Front pastedown in Stack 110. c. 6 (A. Andreae, Venice 1496, Duns Scotus, Venice 1492, given by Robert Barnes, for whom see MS 268).
Many pen-trials on this, both sides of the front flyleaf and title-page, and on the verso of the last page of text (f. 95v), the rear flyleaf and pastedown. Among them are notes of ownership. Title-page ‘Frater Iohannes Best’, ‘John Restell hunc possidet librum’. f. 94 ‘Liber predicabilium cum aliis libris est Collegii Mertonensis ex dono Roberti Barnes Medici qui socius fuit eiusdem Collegii cuius animam omnipotens Deus perducat ad uitam aeternam.’ Second vol., f. 95v the name Thomas Symons several times. On the recto of the end flyleaf: ‘Liber Willelmi More monachi Wigornie.’ This was William More, monk of Worcester from 1488, prior 1518–1536 (J. Greatrex, Biographical Register of the English Cathedral Priories of the Province of Canterbury [Oxford, 1997], pp. 848–50). ‘Thomas Symons est huius libri verus possessor teste Burford.’ On the verso: ‘Iste liber pertinet ad fratrem Willelmum [expunged] fratrem domus Carmelitarum Conuentus Novi Castri [in another hand] nec non Coventrie.’ ‘Iste liber pertinent Iohan’ in optione conuentus sed pessime in conscencione.’ ‘Iste codex pertinet Iohan’ in optione.’ ‘Iohannes Sarysburiensis. Davyd Tolley’. ‘Iohannes Bromegrove’. On the rear pastedown: ‘Iohannes Watkyns est possessor huius libri testibus domino Cox, magistro Thomson.’ ‘Watkyns est possessor huius libri Teste Ioanne Crofton cum multis aliis’.
