252 leaves (iv + 249) Many leaves, especially the inner leaves of quires, are smaller and irregularly shaped due to the natural edge of the skin.
Hands
A large English gothic rotunda bookhand of medium quality.
Decoration
Very little, diminishing in the course of the book: a few red initials flourished in blue, even fewer blue flourished in red; red (and a few blue) paraphs, underlining and highlighting.
Binding
s. xix, sewn on five bands. Fols. i-iii, 247–9 are modern paper blanks.
Provenance
At the foot of fol. 246v is an erased inscription ‘Iste liber pertinet domino Roberto de Exylby capellano quem emebat de Iohanne Albane de Flasby lanc’ feria tertia in ebdª Pentecostes anno regni regis H. VI xiº prec’ ii marc R. O.’ The places are in Yorkshire, the year was 1433.

Near the foot of the foredge of fol. iv is a mark probably of a brass chain-staple. At the head of fol. 1 is a title and ‘F. 3, ?4’ (canc.), s. xvii. On fol. ivv is another title and ‘O. 7. 13. Art:’, s. xvii. Inside the front board is the College bookplate with ‘O. 7. 13’, s. xix, canc. and replaced with ‘A. 1. 4 (CLXXXV)’ in red.
