Binding
Standard Merton s. xvii, repaired, rebacked and resewn on three bands; formerly chained from the usual position. Fols. i-ii, 191–2 are modern paper blanks. fol. 190 was once a pastedown.
Provenance
Near the head of fol. 2v a 3-line inscription in red, apparently beg. ‘Liber’, has been thoroughly erased.
At the foot of fol. 1 is ‘Liber domus scolarium de Merton’ in Oxon’ ex legato Magistro Ioh’ Raynham sacre pag[ine] professoris et quondam socii eiusdem domus.’ For Reynham, fellow 1335–58, d. 1376, see MS 18.
Inside the front board is another table of contents and ‘E. 5, 6’ (canc.), s. xvii, and ‘O. 7. 8. Art:’, canc. and replaced with ‘H. 1. 11 (CLXXX)’ in red; the College bookplate.
