From a fine large copy, written by the scribe of MS 319 and with similar minor decoration.

Decoration

Blue initials flourished in red; red auctoritates, highlighting and underlining. Running heads in red with blue initials flourished in red.

Provenance

Two taken from Stack 110. c. 16 (Cornelius Scepperus, &c., Antwerp 1523, given by Robert Barnes, for whom see MS 268), the other two purchased, Dec. 1948, from N. J. P. Bayliss of Headington, who bought them at a sale in Oxford. They were identified shortly before by N. R. Ker, who communicated his discovery to W. H. Garrod.

Two more leaves are in the binding of Bodl. Libr., Savile W. 14 (Ptolemy in Greek, Basel 1538); single leaves are in Bodl. Libr., MS Lat. misc. b. 18, no. A. 52, Oxford, Corpus Christi Coll., MS 488 nos 45 (taken from I. 12. 8, Bale, Scriptores, Basel 1559) and 46 (taken from Z. 37. 13, Concilia Generalia vol. 4, Cologne 1567); three leaves in Westminster Abbey, MS 36 nos 8–10 (taken from J. 2. 30, J. Beurlinus &c., Frankfurt 1561, belonging to Thomas Summaster).
