Written in an elegant Continental bookhand similar to that of MS 150 but angled forward. The lemmata are in larger script.
Decoration
Major decoration as MS 150 (large initials, typical English professional work of the period): fol. 1 12-line E with 3-sided border; fol. 92 (Ps. 27) 11-line D with 3-sided border; fol. 2 3-line gold B on a square purple ground, enclosing white tracery on blue, sprays into the margin. Blue initials flourished in red; red running heads on ruled lines, red underlining; unfilled spaces for smaller coloured initials.
Binding
s. xix, sewn on five bands; fols. i-ii, 112–13 are paper binding leaves.
Provenance
See MS 150. At the head of fol. 1 is ‘Ex dono H. Seuer custodis’,c. 1600.
Inside the front board is the College bookplate with ‘O. 5. 2.’, canc. and replaced with ‘M. 3. 2 (CLI)’ in red. ‘2’ is inked on the foredge.
