Hands
A small English gothic rotunda bookhand fols. 1–130 col. b line 27, 217–29. Fols. 130 col. b line 28 – 173v in anglicana; another anglicana hand fols. 174–214.
Decoration
None: unfilled spaces for coloured initials and rubrics.
Binding
s. xix, sewn on four bands; fols. i-iii, 230–2 blank paper binding leaves. On fol. iv, of thick, stiff parchment, is the mark of an iron chain-staple near the foot of the foredge.
Provenance
At the head of fol. ivis ‘Liber collegii ex dono magistri Thome Bloxham’, and ‘B lier. iius’, in the usual hands (see above, MSS 60, 69). For Bloxham, see MS 41.
Seen at Merton by John Bale (Appendix C, no. 45).
On the same leaf are ‘D. 6, 14’ (canc.) and ‘O. 3. 3 Art:’, s. xvii, and the College bookplate.
At the head of fol. 1 is the James no. ‘47’, s. xvii in.
Inside the front board is another bookplate and ‘O. 3. 3.’ (s. xix), canc. and replaced with ‘L. 1. 3 (CXXXI)’ in red.
