Hands
A single proficient cursive hand, probably French, ‘chamfering’ the bottom outer corners of the written space.
Decoration
None: unfilled spaces for coloured initials and rubrics.
Binding
s. xix, sewn on five bands; fols. i-iii, 220–2 are blank paper endleaves. fol. iv, a pastedown in an earlier binding, has the marks of two foredge straps.
Provenance
At the head of fol. 1, cropped by the binder, ‘Liber domus scolarium de Merton Oxon ex legato m. Ioh. Stauele’. For Staveley, d. soon after 1349, see MS 81. UO47. 11, ‘in libraria’.
On fol. vvis a sheet of paper with a table of contents and ‘O. 2. 11. Artium’, s. xvii. ‘11’ is inked on the foredge. Inside the front board is the College bookplate with ‘O. 2. 11’ and ‘H. 2. 11 (CXXVII)’ in red.
