Hands
A single anglicana hand.
Decoration
Blue initials flourished in red; art. 1 has red or blue paraphs and red running heads with blue paraphs.
Binding
Standard Merton s. xvii, sewn on six bands; formerly chained from the usual position. Fols. i-ii, 120–1, are paper binding leaves, fols. i and 121 from the same printed book as in MS 84. The outermost parchment leaves were pastedowns in an earlier binding.
Provenance
Made in England; there is nothing to connect this book with the College before 1600.
At the head of f. 1 is the James no. ‘208’ (wrongly; this is MS 12), s. xvii in. Inside the front board is a sheet of paper with a table of contents, s. xvii, ‘P. 3. 10. Art:’, s. xvii, canc. and replaced with modern ‘B. 1. 2 (CCXLIII)’ in red; the College bookplate.
