On fol. 3r an illuminated border, white vine-tendrils on a blue background with crimson and dark green infilling and the green spattered with gold dots. At the foot is a defaced coat of arms on a gold background surrounded by a green laurel wreath with a blue and a red riband to left and right respectively.

Otherwise capitals are plain blue and red, 2-line. There are rubrics and red underlining of characters’ names. Not recorded by Alexander and Temple.

A defaced shield at the foot of fol. 3r presumably bore the arms of the first owner. There is no record of how the manuscript came to Exeter.
