Paper folded in 4°, Bannerwatermarks generally similar to Velkov etendard 2 (attested in 1669) and ZSAcountermarks, alternating with lamb watermarks generally similar to Velkov agneau pascal 13, 15 and 16 (attested in 1656 and 1658) and to Grozdanović-Pajić 142 (attested in 1684); chain-distance 26 mm. Ff. 133–137 are endpapers. Fol. 132 has been mis-numbered, probably in the scribe’s hand, 133.

Hands

Produced probably by a single scribe who used pens of varying thickness.

Decoration

The scribe drew in black ink a tailpiece at the end of the text on f. 132r.

The text on ff. 32r–34v, 86v, 88r, and 90v is illustrated with diagrammatic drawings.

There are also two drawings of hands added in the outer margins of ff. 120r and 121r.

Binding

Binding (original to the manuscript) of blind-tooled brown leather over pasteboard; covers flush with the book-block, raised endbands, three projecting ridges on the spine; traces of two leather thongs. The endpapers have the same watermarks as the leaves with text.

Acquisition

Bequeathed by Sir George Wheler (1651–1724), who acquired it during his journey to Greece (1675–1676).

Provenance

Note in black ink on f. ir: Εἰς χρῆσιν Ναθαναὴλ ἱερομ ονάχου καὶ τῶν φίλων.
